Day: 87, P90X Kenpo X

Adios Kenpo X! I won't see this workout again until the end of Week 1 in Round 2 (which is actually a week from Friday, but I'm still proud)! I had trouble getting started today, the whole morning workout thing, but I really got into it about halfway through. I also think I overworked my shoulders during Core yesterday, so that definitely hindered my punches.

Holy crap, today is Day 87! Only 3 days left. Crazy. It's time to Bring it!

Wow, I've really learned to love this one since the first recovery week. I can do every exercise, and some I can do very well, and the first time I struggled through almost everything! Huge progress in less than 90 days, and I can't wait to see how much better I can do when I do it for the last time in 2 days.

I did 18 of the prison cell pushups (6 sets of 3 pushups) and for the first time did every single one of the lunge kickback curl press things. Those I never stop on, but today was the first time I could keep up with everyone instead of slowing down.

Just a few more days and it's all over, and then time for round 2. Bring it!

The final recovery week has begun! Yoga went pretty well today. I had a little trouble getting started and was losing focus towards the end, but the majority I held everything pretty well. I slept a lot last night, and I think that makes me a little sluggish on yoga days.

Not too much to say about this workout. I'm debating looking into Yoga: MC2 (from One on One) for the next round, but only if it's as difficult as Yoga X. I don't like having this workout memorized, but I don't want to be one of those people who switches to an easier yoga workout. Yes, yoga x is hard, but I feel like it's the most important of the workouts.

It's been an unhealthy Thanksgiving weekend and I couldn't sleep in the hotel bed very well, so I decided to throw in one more Cardio X workout today. I haven't added workouts since phase 1, and it felt really good to start my day with a lot of movement.

We're heading home tonight after visiting with some family, and tomorrow I'll be home and ready to start the final week with Yoga X. Bring it!

That's all she wrote for Week 12, and one more week to go. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun last night, but I definitely felt that turducken when I woke up. Took a few minutes to get moving in my hotel room, but I finally hit play around 7:45 and had an awesome Kenpo X workout!

We're about to get on the ferry to San Francisco, so I'm cutting this short, but this morning was a great workout and I'm ready to finish my 90 days strong. Bring on Week 13! Bring it!

Day: 82, P90X Legs & Back

Legs and Back is done for good! It's Thanksgiving and I'm on a tight schedule today, so I got up way early and worked out. Pushed through legs and rocked the pullups, and now I'm packing to fly out to Sacramento for the holiday.

This is the last time I see this workout in my first round, and round 2 I'm switching it with back and base. Very stoked.

This is my last ab ripper in round 1 and I really brought it today. 25 reps on everything and the mason twists were a no brainer today! Amazing way to end my first run with ab ripper.

Oi, today was not a good yoga day. I don't know if I was tired or what, but my balance was horrible, my stamina was horrible and I honestly could not bring it today like I usually can. I'm glad I get two more shots at this before Day 90. I did manage to finish, though, so I guess that's a victory. Even a crappy yoga day I still feel pretty good after, so Week 12 continues. Man, I was tired today! Couldn't sleep and woke up early for my workout, and I was dragging ass. Halfway through I got a good pump going and really brought it. I'm glad too, since this is the last time I'll see back and biceps until Week 5 of Round 2, and this is my last real resistance workout (I don't count legs day) in this first Round. Holy crap, I made it, and I've gotta be honest, my arms look better than they ever have in my life! My belly may still be there, but the arms look damn hot.

I really like this workout and can't wait to see it again in a few months!

It's finally happening....I'm getting bored with ab ripper. I've gotten pretty good at it (not completely there yet but huge progress), but I have the whole thing memorized. I have a vague concept of all of the workouts, but ab ripper I have saved in my brain, and it makes me dread going through all of the motions. I like guessing what's up next. In Round 2 I may try one of the alternatives that Tony's put out since P90X.

That said, I got through today and there's only one more ab ripper left in round 1! Bring it!

I did plyo yesterday and it was awesome, but I never got a chance to post the blog. No more plyo until Round 2, and holy crap have I come a long way! Wore the vest again too. Can't wait to rock this out again in round 2. Bring it!

This is a good workout, and today was no exception. Works the muscles it says it does and does it really well. Pike pushups destroy me, and the pour flys are absolutely ridiculous. I love it!

The next time I see this workout, I'll be in Phase 2 of Round 2! Holy crap, it'll be here before I know it!

Solid ab ripper. This is one of my last three before round 2, so I'm glad I got a good workout in.

And that's all she wrote for Week 11! Kenpo X started out rough. Dinner with the folks tonight, so I had to workout in the morning today, and I was mighty tired. I've been staying up late playing the new Assassin's Creed game (which is awesome by the way). The workout got moving for me during the first punching series. That's by far the hardest part in this workout, so I love bringing it there, and then it's all downhill after. By the time I got to the kicks I was moving faster and exploding a lot more. My form wasn't there, but I still blame Assassin's Creed. Finished strong, and enjoying a free sample of AfterShock now. This stuff is tasty. I may add it into my routine in Round 2.

Day: 75, P90X Legs & Back

Strong workout, but I'm more excited that I only have to do Legs and Back one more time, and that's next week. In round 2 I'm doing Back and Base ab I'm excited about that one!

I did do a good workout today though. My wall squats were very strong. My pullups were awesome too. I rocked out 158 of them on the Total Gym. I'm going to try real pullups again in Round 2, and hopefully my tendon will be strong enough by then.

Very strong ab ripper today. I noticed today, though, that Tony loses count on the v up roll ups. He cuts the group off at 23 and says 25. The reason I know is because I usually have trouble keeping up, so today I decided to start a few seconds early and stay two reps ahead. I did that really well by the way, but we ended together! Sounds like a little flaw, but that's cool because I still did 25. Looks like I'll have to stay two ahead from now on.

One more day in Week 11, and it's Kenpo X! Bring it!

Yoga is definitely the best way to start the day! It was tough getting moving, but once I got going I felt great. This was one of my stronger moving sessions, and it flew by! By the time I got to the Half Moon stuff I was wiped, but it's all downhill from there and I managed to finish strong too. I even did a ton better on my Yoga Belly 7 stuff.

Great workout and my day is looking mighty bright. Namaste.

Day: 73, P90X Shoulders & Arms

This is definitely my favorite lifting workout. Arms arms arms arms arms! I love it. I really felt like garbage this morning too; didn't sleep well. As soon as I got to the second set of arm exercises, though, I felt a lot better.

This is the last time I'm doing this workout in Round 1, and I increased my weight or reps on almost everything. Huge jumps in my shoulder exercises today! Next time I do this workout, I'll be three days in Round 2, and I'll be a P90X Graduate! So freakin' sweet. It's almost over and I'm finishing strong!

Like I said, I didn't sleep well, and as soon as Shoulders and Arms ended my energy dropped. I sipped some water and started Ab Ripper, and even though it wasn't my best, it was still a strong workout.

Week 11 is looking strong so far, even with some minor setbacks. Yoga tomorrow and I can't wait! Bring it!

Volume 3 of P90X One on One arrived today. I can't wait to try the new ab ripper and base and back. The latter I'll be subbing for Legs and Back in round 2, and I haven't decided what I want to do with ab ripper yet. And the new Yoga MC2 is here, but I really like Yoga X so there may just be 2 yoga days in my future. Awesome!

I did it! I wore the weight vest the whole time! I was shooting for 75%, but when I only had one drill left I said screw it and kept wearing it. Oh man I was dying, but I achieved my Week 1 goal with one week to spare. And best of all, I worked out in the morning today. I usually have a lot less strength in the morning, so I know I can really rock this workout now!

Week 11 is going strong. Bring it!

Day: 71, P90X Chest and Back

Wow. I ate terribly last night, and felt terrible today! Not really how I was planning on starting Week 11, but we're here and it is what it is. Rough stomach or not I pushed play and suffered through chest and back. I've made huge improvements since Day 1 (the first time I ever did this workout) and even with the stomach issues, I managed to increase almost all of my numbers.

This is the last time I do Chest and Back in my first round of P90X. I'm officially in the home stretch! The next time I do this workout, I'll officially be a P90X graduate, and I'll have officially started round 2!

The stomach made today rough, and I let myself take it a little easy. I figured anything was better than nothing. Fortunately my numbers were all still pretty close to last week, so I'm still good.

I'm not weighing myself until Day 90, but I've noticed a big drop in the size of my belly. Clothes are fitting amazing; stuff I've never been able to fit into well! I've really kicked the diet into high gear since starting Phase 3. Cooking a lot for myself, and I've been drinking shakeology for lunch on weekdays. Let's see where I weigh in on Day 90. Three weeks from today!

Great Kenpo X day. I threw all of the punches with a lot of power, and I even did all of the X jumps! Excellent way to end Week 10.

One thing I will say, I really don't like the stretch series in this one. The first five minutes are always really slow. But aside from that, ya, I really love this workout.

Rest day tomorrow, and I need it! My legs are dying after yesterday. 3 weeks left in this whole thing! Bring it!

Day: 68, P90X Legs & Back

Excellent workout! I still don't like this DVD, but I really tried to bring it today. My legs are sore as Hell and I did 156 pullups (on the total gym)! My shirt was drenched after and I felt great!

Like I said though, I really don't like this DVD. It's the only disc I feel this way about, but ya, it irks me for some reason. I ordered Base and Back from the One on One series, and if I like it more I'm going to sub it in round 2. From what I hear, it's plyo and back instead of legs and back. That sounds right up my alley.

Today was a victory though. One more day in Week 10. Bring it!

Started out really strong, but the middle was a little rough. I notice that the better I do on the bicycles (I did all of them today!) the worse my next few exercises are going to be. That kind of makes sense when you think about it, but it makes me wonder if I should be trying so hard on the bicycles. Well, I guess the goals to master the whole thing, so it's probably progress.

I will say that I have the Mason Twists down tight! I rock out all 50 plus a few more every time lately. Man, I love it. I don't know when I'm gonna see it, but when I do this six pack is going to look sweet!

Yoga is the best way to start the day, and since the time change was on Sunday I no longer have to do yoga in the dark. I was really tired when I got started today, but by the time we got to the sun salutations I was really relaxed and pumped out one of my strongest yoga x days ever! I even held the half moon stuff a lot longer, and my crane was strong too. I didn't actually leave the ground, but balanced on one toe the entire 60 seconds. My arms were on fire after!

Great workout and once again a great way to start the day. Namaste.

This workout is a killer, but I got through it. My biceps feel amazing right now. For some reason I had to lower some of my weights and I only increased my reps on a few things (nothing actually went down), but I still felt a lot stronger this week. I think I was struggling more than I thought three weeks ago, but like I said, today I just felt really strong. My form was great and everything was pumped out with quality.

The next time I see this workout it will be the last time for the whole program. Making progress! Bring it!

Day: 65, P90X Plyometrics

Excellent Plyo workout! Not only was today definitely my strongest plyo day, but I made it halfway with the weighted vest on! I was rereading the first week blog posts, and I forgot I'd made that a goal; to get through a whole plyo workout with the vest. There's only two more plyo workouts after today, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I did the harder workouts of everything (except the flat out hopping stuff) and made it all the way to the third break with the vest. I was losing focus at that point so I took the vest off, but that puts me in perfect position to accomplish that goal by the final plyo day.

Feeling amazing right now! Bring on Week 10!!

This workout always goes by so fast, so I guess that means I really like it. My arms feel excellent afterwards. My chest always feels rough after, though, because the pushups in this are really hard. They're all a lot harder than any others in the whole program. I managed to get my pushups numbers up today, but they still destroy me. There's even a few that I have to do on my knees, and they still kick my ass!

Great way to start Week 10. The end is near!

All done with Week 9! This is flying by! And man, today went so well too! I woke up this morning and felt REALLY sluggish, but I hit play anyways. For some reason I don't really like the stretch portion of Kenpo, so the first five minutes I had myself convinced that I was going to have a terrible workout. As soon as the jabs started, though, I instantly felt incredible, and that kept going the entire workout! All of my punches were strong, and I really focused on keeping my guard up the whole time. My kicks were strong (stronger on the right side) and I just had this awesome rush the whole hour.

I'm really glad today was strong. I felt like this whole week was hit or miss, and ending this week on a strong note feels really good.

Day: 61, P90X Legs & Back

Ouch! Today's another weird schedule day, so I was awake a lot earlier than I usually am to do morning workouts. I don't know if it's because I was exhausted or if my legs were still sore from Plyo, but at the midway water break I had to call it quits. My legs were destroyed today and I found myself standing around more than actually working out. I hit fast forward and did the stretch, and that was it.

Next week I will do this workout after work, like I normally do, and I'm hoping that changes things.

With the weird schedule, I really wasn't sure when I was going to get Ab Ripper in, but when I had to ditch half of Legs and Back I decided there was no getting out of Ab Ripper today. I hit play and actually had a good workout. My legs were dying on the first four moves, but once I got to set them down I really got some great ab work done today. Looks like the day wasn't a total loss.

Day: 60, P90X Yoga X

Today is Day 60. I took another picture and weighed myself, but I'm still not posting anything until Day 90. What's interesting, though, is that I didn't lose as much weight as I thought I would have in the last 30 days. However, I can definitely notice a difference in my Day 30 and Day 60 pictures, so I'm wondering how much muscle I've also gained.

I'm a little off track from where I wanted to be, but my goals aren't impossible to reach. The Shakeology should help too. I had the chocolate one yesterday by the way, and it's delicious! I should have gotten all chocolate. Oh well.

30 more days and Round 1 is done!

Good yoga workout. Not great, but good. My legs were still dying from Plyo two days ago, and by the time I got to the right angle pose today I started to feel spent. I pulled through and finished the whole workout, and even held crane pose a little longer today, but I've definitely done better.

That's ok though. I woke up early and I still hit play, so today is a victory. Namaste.

I missed this workout a lot! It's really awesome, and now that I have a lot more types of weights (and my 20 lbs kettlebells) I got an even better workout today. Arms and arms and arms; I love it!

I started using Shakeology today. I had greenberry, and I'll be honest, I think it's pretty horrible. I did just have it with water though, so if I can figure out how to get a blender and fruit to my office, I'll be good. I have high hopes for the chocolate though.

Plyo has succeeded to kick my ass once again. Man did I miss this workout last week! Jumping around, when you can actually do it, is a lot of fun surprisingly. Don't get me wrong, I struggle through more than half of it, but I can do light years more than I could 8 weeks ago.

I'm glad today went well after yesterday's missery. Back on track.
