Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed The final core cardio and balance is done. The program calls for it a few more times in month 2, but they also gave me max interval sports training to sub in on those days, so this probably is it for a while for this workout. It's been a good recovery week. I got tired in the middle, but overall the week kept my heart rate up without killing my muscles. I still feel a little beat up, but I'm ready to go for month 2 on Sunday. Also it's back to my doubles schedule that day too. I'm really not planning on doing anything but working out on Sunday. Wish me luck. Adios recovery week, week 5! Dig deep! |

Day: 34, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Thursday, April 7, 2011
Day: 33, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed Another core cardio and balance is completed. The difference today is that today I had a fantastic workout! I worked late last night, which means I go into work late today. That means I got to sleep in (until 7:30) and that made a HUGE difference! I had a lot more energy, and took significantly fewer breaks during the cardio section. I really pushed it too, and was pretty soaked by the time the ab work came in. The ab stuff is my favorite part of this workout, and I had a lot more focus today. The sleep really changes things. I like getting my workout done before I start my day so I can do homework or see my girlfriend after work, but I may need to throw in one or two night workouts again. The additional sleep in the week will really help me out, and I'll get a lot better workouts overall. Especially with the max workouts starting next week, I really want to bring it as hard as possible. I'll keep you posted. Quick note, I really like this workout. It's a good whole body thing, I like the random punches in it, and the cardio gets me going. Plus it's definitely a recovery workout; I just feel better after doing it. After insanity I'm thinking about doing one week of the P90X recovery week before starting Rushfit. My body will be hurting after 4 more weeks of Insanity, and I want to start Rushfit strong. Like I said a few months ago, I think I've outgrown kenpo x, so I may do this workout in that week instead. I know I'm a few weeks from that mattering, but I wanted to throw it on the blog so I don't forget. Dig deep! |

Day: 32, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed Another round of core cardio and balance is in the books. Oh man, I was completely drained this morning. It was a rough workout, but I pushed through. The recovery week is exactly what I need this week, and I'm ready to kick it back into gear on Sunday with month 2. Time for work, so I'm making this short. Dig deep! |

Day: 31, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Log Entry | Daily Note: Quick shout out, my buddy Peter started Insanity yesterday. He texted me that he'd completed plyo cardio and that he was pretty sure he was dying, so I congratulated him and told him the recovery week is awesome. Good luck Peter! Start a blog! |
Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed Another round of core cardio and balance is complete. More and more this is turning into my favorite workout. It has a good pace and I sweat, but I don't feel like I'm dying at the end which I personally think is great. Three more of these workouts and I begin the max routines. I'm going to enjoy this week as much as possible, because I foresee a great deal of pain and terror in the 4 weeks after. Dig deep! |

Day: 30, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed Core cardio and balance is done. I like this workout. It's a lot of fun, works a lot of different areas and isn't nearly as intense as the other insanity stuff. That's awesome, especially because I am tired as hell this morning and was having trouble getting energy. Big note for the day, today is Day 30. This is actually a 63 day program, not 60 as advertised, but I'm still calling today the half way point since I'm used to taking pictures every 30 days. I see a lot more definition in my upper body, and my stomach feels a lot tighter than 30 days ago. So far so good. I wonder where I'll be in another 30 (33) days. Dig Deep! |

Day: 29, Insanity Core Cardio & Balance
Workout | Insanity Core Cardio & Balance Status: Completed The recovery week has arrived! My body has been working hard for the last four weeks, and I don't think I could have worked as hard today on a normal insanity workout. I definitely don't feel like I could have done a double workout today with P90X. Today and every day this week is core cardio and balance. I didn't know what to expect coming in to this workout, but it was actually pretty awesome. A decent amount of cardio work without getting me completely destroyed like a normal workout, and the ab stuff is pretty fun too. Good workout. I'm a little concerned that I do this DVD every day this week. That feels like a lot to do in a row, and I don't want to get burnt out with it. However, it's only a week, and I really like that shaun t actually says in this workout "welcome to your recovery week" and "you've been working hard the last four weeks." Clearly this workout is here for a specific reason, so I'm trusting the program. Week 5 starts off strong! Dig Deep! |

Day: 89, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed The final Core Synergistics is completed! I only get to do this one 6 times in a round, so I'm never too familiar with it when I do it. For that reason it always kicks my ass, and I love it. The pushups are all really crazy (I love the staggered hands ones in the beginning) and the full body weight workouts are nuts! The lunge kickback curl press things are my favorite in this whole workout, and I also love that I can do the entire plank chattaranga iso. One more day in this round of P90X, and it's Yoga! I'm ready to wrap this round up and get started with Insanity! Bring it! |

Day: 86, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed The final week is going strong. I woke up at 5:15 to do some homework, and didn't get to work out this morning. After work I was completely drained, but pushed play and had a damn good workout. I always forget how crazy core synergistics is, and it always works me great. I pushed as hard as I could, used heavier weights, got a lot of pushups in and just felt great all over. I love how much I sweat during plank chattaranga iso. Very cool. I think I'm ready to start Insanity. Just a few more days. Bring it! |

Day: 54, P90X Core Synergistics
Log Entry | Daily Note: Quick note, Jay is awake! Haven't seen him yet, but his family let us all know last night. More news to come. Glad to hear you're back with us Jay! |
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Core is done for the day! Great workout, and a great way to start my day. Not feeling like blogging much today, so I'm making this short. Next time I see core it'll be in the final week. Bring it! |

Day: 51, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Great Core workout today. I always forget how great this workout is, and tonight was pretty awesome. The arm stuff is great, and I upped my weight from a few weeks ago on almost everything. One of my favorites in this is definitely the steam engines too. Those are some amazing cardio and ab moves! Great workout and the recovery week is off to a great start! Bring it! |
Workout | P90X Yoga: MC2 Status: Completed I decided to get up early and make up my Yoga: MC2 workout from yesterday. I was exhausted and it definitely showed in my workout, but I still got through it and it's great way to start the day. Namaste. |

Day: 26, P90X Core Synergistics
Log Entry | Daily Note: Not workout related, but today is Mom's birthday and I wanted to give a shout out to her. Happy Birthday Mom! |
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Ouch. I had to get up early today, and the weather is crazy so I didn't sleep well, and man did I feel it during core. This was harder than the original Week 4 Core day! Today just wasn't happening. I made it through 75% of the workout when I decided the energy was gone, and I was doing more damage than good. Today's kind of a wash, but tomorrow is yoga so I'm expecting to get my energy back soon. Recovery week is moving along, and when I start lifting again on Sunday it will be the start of 2011! I've let the diet slide a little in December, but I'm ready to hit the ground running in January! Right when Phase 2 starts, and I have a fresh bag of chocolate shakeology ready too! Bring it! |

Day: 23, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Core kicked my ass today! I got through it, but it wasn't pretty. I felt pretty rough today in general. My legs and upper body hurt like I worked out too hard. What's weird is, yesterday was yoga and the day before that was a rest day. I should have felt great today. Instead I was tight and moving very slow. That said, I defeated core synergistics and am soaked. That's another victory. Kenpo tomorrow. I'm hoping I'm feeling a lot more loose. Bring it! |

Day: 89, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Day 89 is done. Only one more day to go. Tony's right; Core turned into one of my favorite workouts. I really wish this one showed up more often in the program. I love the whole body stuff, the pushups are all funky and different, and I'm blown away how long I can hold chattaranga. I'm eating at claim jumper with family tonight. I'm going to try to eat healthy, but it's claim jumper, so I'm expecting my results to be a pound or two over where they'd normally be. Just throwing that out there for tomorrow. It's been quite a ride, and I have a few recap comments I'm looking forward to putting together tomorrow. One more day! Bring it! |

Day: 86, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Wow, I've really learned to love this one since the first recovery week. I can do every exercise, and some I can do very well, and the first time I struggled through almost everything! Huge progress in less than 90 days, and I can't wait to see how much better I can do when I do it for the last time in 2 days. I did 18 of the prison cell pushups (6 sets of 3 pushups) and for the first time did every single one of the lunge kickback curl press things. Those I never stop on, but today was the first time I could keep up with everyone instead of slowing down. Just a few more days and it's all over, and then time for round 2. Bring it! |

Day: 54, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Good workout today, but work destroyed me this week and I felt it by the time I got home to do core tonight. I still powered through. Not as strong as Monday, but still WAY stronger than the last recovery week. Tomorrow is a holiday so no work, and it's Yoga day. That means I get to sleep in, be rested and do yoga! Sounds outstanding. I always have a better workout when I'm well rested, especially yoga! One more day in the second recovery week. Bring it! |

Day: 51, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Wow, I've gotten a ton stronger on core! I used much heavier weights than 4 weeks ago, and holy crap I did the plank to chattaranga hold stuff at the end really well! I couldn't believe that! Time for sushi so I'll make this short. Bring it! |

Day: 26, P90X Core Synergistics
Log Entry | Daily Note: One more day in Recovery Week left. I'm dying to get back to lifting! I can't tell if I've actually lost any weight or gained any muscle. Yesterday, though, I wore a t-shirt to work and two or three people made a comment about my arms. Maybe there's some change? I'll be taking my Day 30 picture next week, but sorry folks, I'm not posting any pictures for you until Day 90. Alright, time to get ready for work. |
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Core Synergistics went a lot better today, but it's going to be a while before I can actually do this workout well. I kind of wish this workout came more often in the program; I'm not going to see it again until the next recovery week. It's not that I enjoy it as much as I want to get better at it so I don't dread it. |

Day: 23, P90X Core Synergistics
Workout | P90X Core Synergistics Status: Completed Wow. Core Synergistics is difficult. The stuff you see in Cardio X doesn't even come close to the whole thing of this. I'll admit, this was a poor workout for me. I struggled with a lot of stuff. The only bright side is this is also how I felt after my first day of Plyo. I think my comments were about the same. Now, I can definitely hold my own in Plyo! So I don't know when, but by the end of this whole thing I'm going to be rocking some Core Synergistics! That's been the cool thing with P90X so far; you slowly get better at things. There's definitely things that I couldn't do one of, but I never hit stop. As long as I don't hit stop, I can watch and see how they do it. Eventually I always feel necessary to "just try one" and next thing I know I can do 10! Who cares if I don't keep up? If I can just do a little more each time, eventually I'll get there. I'm in no rush, and at the end of this 90 days, even if I haven't lost a pound, no matter what I'll at least be a ton stronger and healthier than if I didn't do it. Feeling inspired now. Can't wait for tomorrow. Bring it! |
